The Sandroine Awards 1961 ballot picks Claudia Cardinale as Lead Actress, Marcello Mastroianni as Lead Actor, Monica Vitti as Supporting Actress and Max Von Sydow as Supporting Actor. It is a personal, alternative ranking of the year's best acting performances in cinema: the top five in each of the four acting categories, with performances from around the world next to the usual favourites. 14 of the 18 picks on the 1961 ballot are from outside the United States (Italy, Scotland, Japan, France, Belgium and Sweden).
