The Sandroine Awards 1991 ballot picks Gong Li as Lead Actress, Michel Piccoli as Lead Actor, Jane Birkin as Supporting Actress and Edouard Joubeaud as Supporting Actor. It is a personal, alternative ranking of the year's best acting performances in cinema: the top five in each of the four acting categories, with performances from around the world next to the usual favourites. 17 of the 18 picks on the 1991 ballot are from outside the United States (China, Hong Kong, France, Canada, Germany, England, Taiwan, Spain and Wales).
