2002 acting ballot: best lead and supporting performances

It is a personal, alternative ranking of the year's best acting performances in cinema: the top five in each of the four acting categories, with performances from around the world next to the usual favourites. 14 of the 18 picks on the 2002 ballot are from outside the United States (England, France, China, Italy, Hong Kong, Scotland and Russia).
